I opened my first restaurant in 1979; it was a small Caribbean cuisine takeout on Long Island New York. My first attempt as a restauranteur was surprisingly successful. As word of mouth began to spread I needed to expand, so I established my second restaurant it was named negril Palm, it was also successful I was then encouraged to start yet negril Palm was closed and I opened the door to yet another restaurant. In 2000 Coconut Cafe my third venture came into being. The restaurant became one of the top 10 on the island. After several reviews and newspaper articles my mid-side restaurant did not have the capacity to accommodate the huge clientele so with the help of the fire department of Rockville center and the  wonderful towns people I moved Coconut Cafe to a different location in the neighborhood. I was welcomed in a community in which there was very little minority business. I enjoyed some level of success but then the disaster of 9/11. I subsequently sold the restaurant and ventured into the catering business. I have relocated to Florida in the West Palm Beach area, where I have hosted many high-end private parties, tea parties and other social events. My significant other and I went to Europe last year, and we experienced traveling on the tea bus.
